The area has a rich historical heritage, sanctified by the footsteps of the nobles, as the Vasota fort is located a short distance from the our resort. From the fort, we can have a beautiful and impressive view of the surrounding landscape. Situated on the banks of Shivsagar Reservoir in the picturesque village of Shembdi in the Satara district of Maharashtra, the Shembdi Math is a spiritual monastery dedicated to the worship of Lord Dutta. The Math founded by Vishwachaitanya Sadguru Shri Narayan Maharaj or Anna Maharaj is also known as Narayan Maharaj Math. Shri Narayan Maharaj also named this place Shri Kshetra Narayanpur Vinayakanagar.
There is a pindi of Lord Shankara in the cave of Shembdi Math. The purpose of placing pindi in the cave is that the person who comes for darshan should humbly take darshan and come out bowing down. An idol of Lord Ganesha with the right trunk is installed in the upper part along with the Shivlinga.
